ENELYTIX® Cybersecurity
Cybersecurity is a critically important issue for energy industry. Growing adoption of cloud technologies by the industry often raises concerns that cloud computing may be less secure than on-premise technologies. Cyber security experts note that this is not the case. As reported by the Utility Dive at the FERC November 2023 annual reliability conference, cloud technologies could provide significant cost, security and reliability benefits to the U.S. electric grid. As noted at the conference, the operational demands of decarbonization, decentralization and digitalization would 100 times increase the processed data volume which would be impossible to achieve without cloud computing.
As pioneers of cloud-based businesses, we are well familiar with concerns questioning the cybersecurity of cloud-based solutions. These concerns are often predicated on a misunderstanding or insufficient knowledge of cloud security.
Cloud providers, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) offers the most robust cybersecurity system trusted by the largest organizations and government agencies. Today, many businesses rely on solutions offered by cloud providers and embrace their cybersecurity technologies.
From its inception over a decade ago, ENELYTIX® has been a cloud-based platform. We take cybersecurity of our platform very seriously. While relying extensively on cyber-security of AWS, we follow the industry best practices to assure that we use stringent cybersecurity policies and procedures and the most advanced and relevant tools protecting the security of our platform, operations and data of our customers.
