Options For a Reliable, Affordable and Greener Future
The Brattle Group used ENELYTIX to study a contract between Memphis Light Gas and Water (“MLGW”) and TVA. A number of alternative power supply scenarios were evaluated in both the near and long term. The study found that MLGWP could significantly reduce its electricity supply costs whith lower CO2 emissions.
Long-Term Contracts for Offshore Wind Energy Projects Pursuant to Section 83C
To comply with Section 83C of the Massachusetts Green Communities Act, Massachusetts electric distribution companies (EDCs) engaged TCR, in collaboration with the Department of Energy Resources (DOER) and an Independent Evaluator, to assess over 20 proposals.
ENELYTIX simulated the hourly operation of the New England electric energy market under a Base Case and each Proposal Case. The Base Case projected energy and capacity costs, along with carbon emissions, without the acquisition of 800 MW of offshore wind by the EDCs.
Long-Term Contracts for Offshore Wind Energy Projects Pursuant to Section 83D
To comply with Section 83D of the Massachusetts Green Communities Act, Massachusetts electric distribution companies (“EDCs’) retained TCR to help them, in cooperation with the Department of Energy Resources (“DOER”) and an Independent Evaluator, to evaluate the quantitative costs and benefits of over 20 distinct Proposals.
ENELYTIX was used to simulate the hourly operation of the New England electric energy market under a Base Case and under each Proposal Case. The Base Case provided a “counterfactual” projection of energy and capacity costs, as well as carbon emissions, under a future in which the EDCs did not acquire 800 MW of offshore wind.
